Croatia is one of Europe’s most varied countries, defined by a heady mix of Balkan, Northern European and Mediterranean influences.
The island-speckled Dalmatian coastline will have you breaking out the factor 50 and kicking back with a dazzling view of the Adriatic Sea. Meanwhile, the interior of the island promises wine, wildlife and cutting-edge culture.
Tumbling waterfalls, turquoise waters and a fringe of deep green foliage makes the lakes of Croatia utterly photogenic.
Small but perfectly formed
Croatia’s craggy, island-speckled coastline is best explored by boat.
We charter two ships exclusively for our Croatian voyages: Katarina Line's MV Adriatic Queen (known locally as Jadranska kraljica) and MV Seagull. They’re small in size, hosting a maximum of 30 guests, so there’s a friendly, intimate atmosphere on board and a truly personal service from the crew.
By day, you’ll glide through glass-clear waters, before mooring up beside a Roman city or an island blanketed in pine forests and lavender fields. Come sunset, you might be up on deck, savouring a glass of wine and chatting with your fellow guests. And for dinner? Wander into port and pick your favourite restaurant – these cruises are all about getting out and sampling the local cuisine.
